Airserver

If you own an Apple TV you know that you can stream things from your iPhone or iPad to your television using Airplay (you just have to select your Apple TV on Control center on your iPod or iPhone).

But what if you want to share your iPhone screen to your Mac or PC?

I remember that back in 2012 I discovered a piece of software called Airserver that enables you to do exactly that: share things from an iOS device to a computer. I know Airserver is not exactly new on the market, but it may be new for you.

Airserver offers a seven-day free trial. After that it offers a consumer one-off license for $15, and an educational license for students and teachers with a pricetag of $8 (businesses have their plan too at $20).

I like Airserver because it is very simple to use. All you have to do is download the software to your computer, run it and enter the code you get by email once you register on the website.

After that, go to Control center on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and select your MacBook or PC start casting content between devices.

Airserver uses include displaying photographs on the computer, listening to music on your PC or Mac and streaming videos, just to name a few.

The software also offers support for Miracast. That way you will be able to stream content from a Windows 8.1 tablet or PC.

This is how air server works between an iPad and a MacBook Air:

Airserver works with OS X Snow Leopard or above; a PC running Windows Vista or above; and iPhone 4S, iPad mini and iPad 2 or above.
