Rogue Nation

It is almost the weekend, and if your are looking for a game to play I recommend you try the new action-packed Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation for iPad and iPhone.

You won’t have to pay a penny to download it, as the app is available for free on the App Store – I have to warn you from the beginning that it contains in-app purchases, so be careful when giving your device to a toddler, as they may end up buying power-ups without your permission.

You are Trent Kane, “IMF went extraordinaire” and your mission is to capture Ethan Hunt. The app recommends you play the game horizontally to get a better experience (playing vertically is not actually an option).

You need to learn the ropes: how to shoot your enemies, avoid the bullets and buy guns. After you kill some guys with the app’s help you find yourself playing on your own.

Weapons include rifles, assault rifles, heavy guns and gauss rifles, which you can upgrade with money you earn or in-app purchases that go from $5 to $100 (I mean, who would pay that?)

Missions include “stake out targets from long range, taken them down with well-placed shots, assault enemy based head-on or infiltrate enemy lines without compromising your identity”. All to stop the “Syndicate” and assist the IMF.

Rogue Nation needs an Internet connection at all times, which kind of sucks. Still, I think that if you like action games, this could be a good one to try during the weekend.
