I really liked Apple Music. Not only does the service have exclusive songs but it displays a wide range of recommendations on the For You section that make discovering new music a lot easier.
Spotify’s Browse section is good too, don’t get me wrong, but for me it seems cluttered and not as accessible as Apple Music – maybe that’s just me.
The Swedish streaming service is ready to fight Apple Music’s “For You” section with the brand new “Discover Weekly”.
Discover Weekly is not a new section; it’s a two-hour-long playlist with new songs based on your music tastes.
Contrary to Apple Music’s “hand-curated” playlists, Discover Weekly shows tracks gathered by an algorithm “built by a team of engineers over the last few months based on listening data from 75 million users”.
Discover Weekly is still not showing on my computer or iPad. Spotify announced that it will roll out today.
Which one do you prefer? A playlist based on your preferences or a handmade list? Let me know in the comments section below.
