Gmail on mac

I am not talking about something from a Mission Impossible film. You can send emails that self-destruct.

Dmail is a Chrome app that offers a greater control over sent messages. Available for free on the Chrome desktop browser, Dmail assures that “finally, sent email has a delete button”.

Once you install the app on your Chrome browser Dmail will immediately display a pop-up window asking permission to access your Gmail account.

Grant it, and Chrome will add Dmail to the app section. Now head to your Gmail account to compose an email.

You will notice on the bottom of the compose area a Dmail “On” button on the left, and a “Destroy” option on the right.

Send Gmail messages that self destruct

Dmail can destroy Messages out to magically in an hour, a day or a week.  I just tried sending a message to one of my accounts, and this is what I got:

This secure message was sent using Dmail. To view this message, simply click the button below

When I clicked on the green “View Message” button, I got redirected to the Safari mobile browser to read the email I sent myself.

I will update this post with my findings – I want to know if the message self-destructed after an hour. In the meantime, you can download Dmail for free and tell me if it works for you in the comment section below.
