Meet YouTube Gaming for Android smartphones and tablets

Google released YouTube Gaming, a new gaming app for Android smartphones and tablets.

YouTube Gaming, a service that hosts over 25,000 gaming videos, displays a home screen with featured videos and channels. On the top, you will find a search bar to look for something in particular.

YouTube Gaming enables you to watch live streaming videos, comment on what’s happening and see suggestions in case you want to watch more videos from the gamer.

The app is divided into three sections: Trending Games, with a list of popular titles that you can follow; Feed, where you will find content suggested by YouTube; and Channels, with a list of channels available on YouTube’s gaming network.

The content is divided into live and pre-recorded videos, and to start streaming you need to subscribe and do it from a desktop computer. Hopefully, YouTube Gaming will enable mobile streaming in the future.

YouTube Gaming app for Android

YouTube Gaming is available for Android devices. If you’re looking for an iPhone alternative, I recommend you try Mobcrush, an app that I reviewed few days ago and that has stablished that it will allow users to stream gaming videos right from their mobile devices.

Google’s new game streaming app has a similar interface to its YouTube app and runs very smooth. Just keep in mind that streaming depends on your Internet connection, and some videos may not flow as you would like.

If you can’t wait to try the new app, you can download it as an APK file. Remember to enable the unknown sources button on your Android’s settings.
