I think I have the GIF fever, and I just discovered a brand new app that is intended to fulfil my GIF needs.

Giphy Cam, from the creator of the famous GIF repository Giphy, has landed on the App Store, and it’s free for everyone to use.

The app, with a 40 MB weight, presents you with a big red button on the main screen to start shooting right after you open it. You can either press for a few seconds for a short video or keep tapping for a long recording.

There are 40 filters/effects that you can apply straight away. That’s right, you don’t need to fiddle around with hidden menus or wait until the next stage to make an awesome GIF.

Tap on the camera button in the right corner to switch to the front shooter. After you apply one effect or filter (disappointing, really: you can only use one filter or effect at a time), watch a preview of your GIF.

On the next screen, you can share your creations on WhasApp, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Giphy automatically saves your GIFs in the camera roll and warns you that animations take effect once you share them and not in your photo library.

Giphy is a very straightforward and easy to use the app for creating in-house GIFs. The app will soon be available for Android smartphones, according to the developers. That means that for now you can only download it for iOS 8.

Did you like Giphy? Let me know in the comment section 🙂
