Turns out, you can use WhatsApp Web on an iPad

Whatsapp released an update in August that enabled iPhone users to connect a mobile device to a computer. That way you can access your phone messages either on a Mac or PC through a desktop browser like Chrome or Firefox.

It turns out that you can also use your iPad to get a glimpse, as well as answer all your Whatsapp texts. For the following to work, you will need the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your iPhone.

Open WhatsApp web on your tablet´s mobile browser; WhatsApp will ask you to download the mobile client on an “iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia S40, Symbian, or Windows Phone.”

To circumvent the previous restriction, tap on the share button next to the address bar, and look for “Request Desktop Site” in the bottom row. Press it, and you will get the same screen you see on a computer browser.

Use your iPhone to scan the WhatsApp Web code, and wait until it pairs with your iPad. Now all your text messages will appear on your tablet. From there you can read and delete conversations, as well as reply to all your messages with text or WhatsApp emoji.

Keep in mind WhatsApp Web wasn´t designed for iPad, so your experience might not be as responsive as if you were using a mobile web app. You will also need to follow the same procedure once you close the website on your tablet.

Nevertheless, WhatsApp Web on iPad beats having to reach out for your phone every time get a text.
