Set custom out-of-office Twitter responses with this cool app

I’ve been trying to cut down on my smartphone use after work. That includes the occasional tweet that interrupts my relaxing time.

If you want to disconnect after a day of computer and mobile screens, OOOTwitter is here to help, at least on the Twitter side of things. Available through ProductHunt, this simple web app enables you to set a custom response for when you don’t want to be disturbed.

Give OOOTwitter permission to access your Twitter account. Here’s where the magic begins. Tap the green “Create New” button on the lower side of the screen. Now, set a starting time – say, 0 hours to start now – and an ending time for responses to stop.

The only thing that’s left is typing a 140 character message. The person who tried to contact you will get your automated answer in the form of a tweet, and you will still see a blue number 1 in Twitter’s notification tab.

OOR works just with tweets, and not messages, something that could still represent a distraction. Nevertheless, OOOTwitter is of great help for when you don’t want your phone to go less crazy after a long day at the office.
