Shoot and upload videos directly to the cloud to save space on your smartphone

If you have an 8 or 16 GB phone or tablet, I bet you can relate to this: at some point you need to erase or move the videos you have recorded on your mobile device. That’s about to change.

Camra is an app that wants to revolutionize the way you store your memories. Instead of recording a video and uploading it, both steps happen simultaneously inside the mobile Android or iOS app.

Provide your mobile number, and confirm it with an SMS code to start saving your videos.

Camra doesn’t ask you to create an account and offers 5 GB of cloud storage for free. If that is not enough for you, there’s a 100 GB monthly plan for $1 a month, or $9.99 a year.

The app has a pretty basic interface; the home hosts an orange “record” button, as well as a storage bar that lets you know the amount of cloud space you have left.

“My media” displays all you videos, while “Groups” enables you to share content with your contacts, even if they don’t have the app installed.

Camra’s strengths include instant uploads of your HD videos to the cloud, free online storage, and content syncing across devices (smartphones, tablets, and computers through a dedicated website.)

You can backup your camera roll videos, and clear space on your device, as well as do a live stream directly to your Facebook profile.

Camera offers a great solution for people who struggle to keep their smartphones or tablets clean. You can download it for free here; it requires iOS 7 or later, and Android 4 or above.
