Here’s how to circumvent iPlayer´s latest geographical restrictions

The BBC started restricting people who use a VPN to access iPlayer outside the United Kingdom. That has something to do with the upcoming release of a BBC streaming service for the US.

VPN stands for Virtual Protocol Network, and it’s a service that normally has a monthly or annual fee. It hides your location and makes geographically restricted websites available wherever you are.

Apparently, the BBC has cracked down on the use of any VPN, either on a computer or a mobile device. IPVanish still works as a way to watch iPlayer outside the UK.

IPVanish offers a 7-day free trial and is available for iOS and Android devices, as well PC and Mac computers.

All you need to do to start your trial is register with an email and password. After that, IPVanish offers a monthly or yearly subscription with servers in the UK, US and over 60 countries (prices start at $1.99 on iOS.)

Who knows how long will IPVanish be able to circumvent the BBC’s geographical restrictions. I recommend you try the VPN before it’s too late, and let me know if it worked for you in the comment section.

You can download IPVanish for iPhone and iPad with iOS 8 or later, as well as smartphones and tablets with Android 4.0.3 or above. There´s also a version for Mac and PC.
