Get 2 GB of free Google Drive storage, courtesy of Google’s Safer Internet Day promo

Today is Safer Internet Day, a time intended to “promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among children and young people across the world.”

To help with making users more security-conscious, Google is giving away 2 GB of free Drive storage. Google Drive enables you to upload and store all kinds of files in the cloud so you can have access to them wherever you are in the world, as long as you have a computer or mobile device and Internet access.

All you have to do to get your storage top-up is click on the following link and make sure your Google general configuration is up to date. The search giant will ask you to go through a brief security check-up: verify your phone number and recovery email; double-check previous activity on your account; make sure you trust the services connected to your account.

Once you tick all boxes, Google will automatically add 2 GB to your current Drive space. The free storage is permanent so you don´t have to worry about expiration dates. Apart from the reward, this way Google helps users keep security in mind. Have you done Google´s check-up?
